a typical wednesday:

today i went to class for four hours, had lunch (a tasty, tasty stew) with my madre, her boyfriend, my roommate, and her boyfriend, went to the beach, sunbathed and read, came home and took a shower. now i am listening to a band that is playing african drum music in the plaza outside of my window. the acoustics are absolutely amazing. i can hear every stroller wheel, every conversation, every everything that happens down there.

and while i'm at it, this is the view from my classroom, which may serve as explanation for why i am a beach bum every day -- because i can see and hear the ocean from class:

today, as i was walking through the city to the beach, i encountered an older couple (american man, spanish woman) who were lost. i gave them directions to the cathedral and spoke with them for a little while about texas, about why we were both here in cadiz, etc. anyway, i kept accidentally sneaking spanish words and "si"s into our english conversation. if i continue to do this when i return home, feel free to say something to me about it. something like, "whitney, you aren't in spain anymore."
